DNK Construction lays outdoor paving for terraces, driveways and gardens in Helsingør, Roskilde, Køge, Hillerød, Frederikssund and the whole of Greater Copenhagen.
We work with a wide range of materials: concrete tiles, granite, ceramic tiles, natural stone and cobblestones. The base build-up is critical for a durable result — we compact to at least 25 cm depth and ensure a minimum 2 cm fall per metre so water drains away from the house.
A correctly built paving project will last many years with minimal maintenance.

Paving costs vary by material, existing sub-base and area. A typical project costs DKK 10,000–30,000 depending on scope.
Price per m² normally includes excavation, crushed stone base, tile laying and jointing. Removal of existing paving and extra excavation may be charged additionally. We recommend getting two to three comparable quotes.

No. Tiles must be laid on a compacted base of crushed stone and bedding sand. Tiles laid directly on soil will sink and shift with the seasons. The base must be at least 25 cm deep.
The standard build-up is a 15 cm layer of compacted crushed stone (more under driveways), followed by a 3–5 cm layer of jointing sand. The crushed stone provides load capacity; the sand layer allows for levelling.
Outdoor tiling should be avoided in frost. The best time is spring or summer when temperatures are stable and above five degrees Celsius. The laying process requires dry, frost-free conditions for the joints and base to set correctly.
